Join us: Water Gardening & Pond Clean-up Workshop, Feb 19

Dear Farm Friends,

It’s time for our annual winter pond clean-up workshop.  Join our pond steward Brett Stephens for an afternoon of insight, learning, elbow grease, and maybe even hip waders.  If you’re curious about our pond ecosystem or aquatic plants, consider getting your feet wet at this workshop! It’s a rare opportunity for an up-close experience of the farm pond. The day will conclude with some snacks in our outdoor kitchen.

Water Gardening & Pond Clean-up Workshop – Winter Edition
Sunday, February  19, 11 am – 3 pm
Instructor:  Brett Stephens

Come out to help with our late winter pond maintenance while you learn about aquatic plants and water management. The day will include a discussion on the ecology of the pond, the importance of water sources on organic farms, strategies for management and creating plant and animal diversity. Bring your hip waders or rain boots, if you have them (a few will be provided), gloves, snacks to share, and join us in getting your hands wet! After our work in the pond, join us in our outdoor kitchen for a snack.

Brett Stephens is co-owner/project manager of San Francisco Landscapes. He is certified in permaculture design, a Bay-Friendly professional, ARCSA accredited professional, and a long-time volunteer at Alemany Farm.

To register for the workshop, email us at community.gardeners@gmail.com and tell us your full name and the name(s) of any friends you’re bringing along.

Suggested donation: $20 per person; no one turned away for lack of funds
All donations will benefit Friends of Alemany Farm via our fiscal sponsor, the San Francisco Parks Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. You can make a donation on our online donation page on the sidebar menu on this page. Alternatively, you can pay with check or cash at the workshop.
